  • Second Half (H2) 2026 Release: Preview – October 12, 2026/Production – November 13, 2026

A few notable items from the H1 2026 SuccessFactors update for LMS, Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll and Time Tracking.

People Profile

The largest change SAP is rolling out a mandatory migration to the Latest People Profile. Both the profile interface and the Full Profile View will be automatically enabled for all customers with the 1H 2026 release.

2H 2026 Provisioning Deprecation Batch

SAP is continuing its meaningful progression of migrating configuration controls out of provisioning and into the admin center. While the 2H 2026 has only 2 items being migrated, the roadmap for the next several releases has more config moving into the admin center, a total of additional 31 items will be moved to the Admin Center for the larger H2 2026 release.

Migration of Interview Scheduling using Microsoft Outlook Integration to Work Tech

Configurations from Set up Interview Scheduling Outlook Integration page is being moved to Work Tech Configuration and will be deleted on May 15, 2026 The Work Tech Configuration page is considered to be a single platform to set up and manage configurations in Microsoft 365 applications.

As part of this migration, all configurations and set up for Microsoft Outlook in Interview Scheduling will be moved to Work Tech Configuration.

Deprecation of Basic Authentication for APIs

HTTP Basic Authentication (Basic Auth) has long been considered less secure because user ID and password are passed over the network via text. To ensure uninterrupted and more secure API access, Basic Auth is being depreciated in favor of more secure authentication methods such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC).

Support for HRIS Field in Configuration Transport Center

As an administrator, you can now select specific HRIS fields for transport in Configuration Transport Center, enabling granular control over configuration changes.

In Configuration Transport Center (CTC), you can now expand HRIS elements to select the individual fields for transport. The enhancement enables multiple users to work on different parts of the same HRIS element without conflicts. You can expand an HRIS element to view and select specific fields or select the complete HRIS elements or a combination of specific fields and elements, as both individual and mixed selections are supported.

The enhancement enables you to transport more granular changes, reducing deployment conflicts, audit risk, and rework when multiple teams work on the same HRIS element.

New Guardrails in Story Reports

Real time feedback on performance-heavy query designs is now available, allowing you to identify and adjust queries that impact report efficiency.

While creating a new Story, you will receive warnings as you approach these thresholds and will be prevented from exceeding them. Existing Story reports are unaffected at runtime, even if they currently exceed these thresholds. When editing an existing Story report, the guardrails block the addition of new data, but all other elements can be modified without restriction, ensuring performance remains unaffected.

The Guardrail values are enabled when the complex queries involve the following:

Query Warning Limit
Self Join 5 12
Nested IF Statements 12 36
Nested Calculated Columns (Guardrails Disabled) 4 (Disabled) 7(Disabled)

Admin Access Management

Admin access management is getting cleaner, with a further demarcation between the old Manage RBP Admin and Super Admin Access tool. They are now broken into 2 discrete entities:

* Manage RBP Admin Access ;
* Manage Super Admin Access.

These updates create a more obvious separation between RBP admin management and higher-level admin rights, allowing these 2 functions to be assigned to different teams or roles. Additionally, Manage Super Admin Access brings Learning and Platform super admin management into one central place, imporving control and allowing better visibility over elevated access.
